El realismo y la genética metafictiva de la novela española
Abstract
This paper revisits the classic dichotomy between realist and metafictional novels, by complexifying and neutralising it by analysing Marianela and Doña Perfecta by Benito Pérez Galdós, articulated in counterpoint with the classic example of Spanish metafictional novel: Niebla, by Miguel de Unamuno. From this movement, the aim was to position Galdosian realism within a new idiosyncratically Spanish genealogy: metafictive realism.
